Reference / Reserve Unit

This unit is headed by Mrs. Funom Blessing (Librarian I) and the other staff are Mrs. M. Lami Kol  (Assistant Library Officer). The unit houses reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, maps, handbooks, manuals, yearbooks, etc. Other materials found in the unit are past question papers and CDL materials.

Serials Units rename to Serials Division

The division is headed by Dr Mrs. Olowonefa Grace (Senior Librarian) and is aided by two other staff, Mrs Ogbonna and Blessing…

The Serials Section has 8,737 volumes of journals in 1,460 titles. There are also 1,376 volumes of related research materials, apart from 431 postgraduate theses and dissertations. The section also subscribes to 10 Nigerian newspaper titles.

Technical Services Division

The Division is charged with the responsibility of acquisition of new materials into the Library as well the processing of all the books and related materials acquired. There are three units under this division, viz:

Collection Development / Acquisition Unit

This unit as the name entails, is in charge of acquiring new materials into the library. The library mostly acquire materials through purchase though sometimes organizations and individuals do donate materials to the library. The unit is headed by Dr (Mrs) Rose Lade Mommoh, (Librarian I) and is assisted by Muibbat Tijjani (Library Officer) and Adakai Oloche Emmanuel, (Porter I).

Cataloguing and Classification Unit

This unit is headed by Dr (Mrs.) A. J. Egbunu (Librarian 1) and the other staff are Mallam Mohammed Shuaibu (Library Officer) and Oloche Samuel (Library Assistant). This unit is in charge of cataloguing newly acquired materials as well as classifying them.

Bindery Unit

Smiley faceThe bindery unit of the Library is in charge of repairing damaged materials in the Library. The damage mostly result from wear and tear due to usage of the materials. The unit is headed by Mr Jeremiah Apim a Senior Bindery Officer and he is assisted by Mal Mohammed Danbaba, a Bindery Assistant.
