The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, is to establish a Computer Based Test (CBT) centre at the University of Abuja for the registration of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This was disclosed by the Registrar of the Board, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, when he paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, on Thursday, 5th December, 2019.

According to the Registrar, the University was chosen for the establishment of the Centre because of its strategic location. “We had earlier made a proposal to your predecessor that the University of Abuja should have a CBT centre, and that a portion of land be given to us to establish that centre, at the extreme end of the University land. We chose such a portion in case there is any problem, or the University is closed, it would not affect our operation,” Professor Oloyede, said.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, described the visit of the JAMB Registrar as historic, saying the University was honoured to receive him. “It is not all the time that the University has this opportunity to host a personality like the Registrar of JAMB,” the VC said, praising him for using technology to drive education in the country.
