The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye has implored the Management of the University to ensure that the mandates of Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) as an internal regulatory mechanism to check unethical practices in the University were sustained through incorporation of its members into the various standing committees of the University as well as the provision of necessary support for the Unit’s operations.

The ICPC Chairman who spoke through his representative, Mr. Abbiah Udofia, Head, Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Department (CMED), ICPC during the inauguration of members of the University of Abuja ACTU on Thursday, 19th December 2019 on the Main Campus, said the Unit was established to ensure transparency and accountability in the MDAs and help combat corruption as provided for in extant circulars of government. The ICPC Chairman urged the newly appointed members to work hard and resist temptations. “You should also strive to live above board at all times and to justify the trust reposed in you”, he said, and challenged the members to enlist the support of staff to ensure the success of the Unit.
